Happy blog Monday, everyone! I cannot believe that training camp is only 17 days away!!! I am so incredibly excited, but also pretty nervous. There are so many “what ifs” going through my head, and it can be really easy to doubt God's plan in the midst of such big change. So, how do we trust the Lord even in our doubt?

As Christians, I think that more often than not, we are told to never doubt the Lord or question what He is doing. And while we really have no reason to doubt Him because He is always faithful, it is still okay to doubt the Lord and question what He is doing in your life. Even when the Lord shows up in the clearest ways possible, our natural reaction is still to question if He truly is who he says He is. We see this in a pretty big way in the bible. In Matthew 3:11-17, John the Baptist is baptizing Jesus. When Jesus comes up out of the water, the sky literally opens up, and God in heaven says, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased”. God literally said that Jesus is His son, and John was right there when it happened. But what is crazy is if we go over to Luke 7:11-17, it says, “ Soon afterward, Jesus went to a town called Nain, and his disciples and a large crowd went along with him. As he approached the town gate, a dead person was being carried out—the only son of his mother, and she was a widow. And a large crowd from the town was with her. When the Lord saw her, his heart went out to her, and he said, “Don’t cry.” Then he went up and touched the bier they were carrying him on, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I say to you, get up!” The dead man sat up and began to talk, and Jesus gave him back to his mother. They were all filled with awe and praised God. “A great prophet has appeared among us,” they said. “God has come to help his people.” This news about Jesus spread throughout Judea and the surrounding country.”

Jesus has just RAISED SOMEONE FROM THE DEAD. Like, how could it not be the Son of God, but right after, in verses 18-20 it says, “John’s disciples told him about all these things. Calling two of them, he sent them to the Lord to ask, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?” When the men came to Jesus, they said, “John the Baptist sent us to you to ask, ‘Are you the one who is to come, or should we expect someone else?’” At this point, John has been a witness to God proclaiming that Jesus is His son, and has heard of all the miracles that Jesus is doing, and yet he still has moments of doubt that Jesus really is the Savior.

You will never not have moments of doubt; even when the Lord shows up in the most amazing and clear ways possible, you will still doubt His plan and timing. But Jesus doesn't shame your doubt; instead He calls you to bring it to Him! What a privilege it is to carry everything to the Lord in prayer and lay it at His feet.

The Lord will not always answer your prayers or wants in the ways you want Him to. But that doesn’t mean He isn't faithful. In times of complete uncertainty when the Lord gives you an answer you didn’t want, what is your reaction? Is it to turn away and try to do everything on your own, or is it to bring your doubt to the feet of the Lord? Let go of your own plan for your life and trust in the Lord's purpose for you!

My encouragement for you is to express your doubt instead of suppressing it! Doubt often grows in isolation so take it to the Lord! Remain and trust in the Lord even when He doesn’t meet your expectations, because it is most often in the moments that God doesn’t do what you want Him to that your faith grows the most.
